About
Goldstone Hall Hotel invites guests to an engaging and hands-on workshop focused on planning the perfect summer garden. The day begins with a guided tour of the grounds, offering insight into the diversity of garden styles. Participants will then take part in a practical session focusing on the maintenance of herbaceous borders, learning key techniques such as staking, tying, and the renowned Chelsea chop. Additionally, the workshop will cover sowing late-flowering annuals and taking cuttings from late-summer perennials like salvias.
In the vegetable garden, Sarah, the Kitchen Gardener, will demonstrate how to prepare seed beds, direct sow, and plant crops like brassicas, which require specific ground preparation. Participants will also have the opportunity to pot up a plant to take home.
The workshop includes tea and coffee on arrival with a Shropshire butter bun, followed by a delicious Gardeners' lunch.
