Multi award winning Goldstone Hall Hotel & Garden as seen recently on BBC Gardeners World Winter Special 2024, will open their award-winning garden to non-residents from Monday to Thursday on 24 March to 31 October 2025.

They have also launched a series of educational events for 2025 including ‘Gardening Through the Seasons’ workshops teaching students a variety of gardening techniques and ‘A Taste of Series’ showcasing their one-acre productive kitchen garden, their plot to plate ethos & the variety of Shropshire flavours available.

 

GARDENING THROUGH THE SEASONS WORKSHOPS 2025

Seed Sowing and Propagation Workshop

Wednesday 19 March 2025, 9.30am -2.00pm
Head Gardener, Ross Underwood, will lead attendees through a variety of propagation techniques for a range of different plants within the garden. Attendees will be able to take many of the plants they propagate home, plus gain new skills to continue in their own garden.

Includes: Tea /coffee on arrival with a Shropshire butter bun, finishing with a Gardeners lunch.

Planning the Summer Garden Workshop

Wednesday 14 May 2025, 9.30am -2.00pm

Join Goldstone for an engaging workshop where attendees will explore planning the summer garden.
It will start with a guided tour to showcase the diversity of garden styles, followed by a hands-on session focusing on the maintenance of the herbaceous borders. Attendees will learn techniques such as staking, tying, and the renowned Chelsea chop, along with sowing late-flowering annuals and taking cuttings from late-summer perennials like salvias.

In the vegetable garden, Kitchen gardener, Sarah, will guide attendees through preparing seed beds, direct sowing, and planting techniques for crops like brassicas, which require specific ground preparation. Plus, there will be a chance to pot up a plant to take home.

Winter & Spring Planters Workshop

Wednesday 9 October 2025, 9.30am -2.00pm
