Attingham Park, a National Trust property on the outskirts of Shrewsbury is getting ready for autumn fun with a Halloween twist this October half-term. From Saturday 26 October to Sunday 3 November explore Attingham as the leaves fall, and rich reds, greens, ambers and yellows can be seen across the park.

This October half-term, families are invited to uncover the mysteries lurking at Attingham Park with Spooky Secrets. The spooky adventure trail will take participants around Attingham’s Mile Walk, where they’ll follow clues to unravel the truth behind the strange disappearance of Herbert the Gardener.

Running daily from 19 October to 3 November 2024, the trail is perfect for families with children aged 5 and up. For £2, families can purchase a trail map at Visitor Reception, which includes a sticker sheet prize upon completion. Will you be brave enough to investigate and uncover Herbert’s spooky fate?

But that’s not all—there’s even more eerie excitement to explore this half-term:

Step into the atmospheric basement of Attingham's historic mansion and dive into a world of spooky, self-led activities for a Spooky Adventure. From Saturday 28 October - Sunday 3 November help Lady Berwick as they search for her missing meal at our Spooky Supper, while budding bakers can collect ingredients on our Pudding and Pie Adventure to whip up an imaginary ghostly treat. Get ready to dress up as a servant from times gone by, and experience life in the shadowy Servants’ Halls! Activities run daily from 11am, and normal admission applies.

Take in the breathtaking beauty of autumn at Attingham Park with our Autumn Light Walk. Head to Attingham’s website and follow the autumn light trail around the park. From golden orange hues to vibrant reds and deep browns, the Deer Park is alive with the colours of the season. Wander through the woods, catch glimpses of the majestic fallow deer, and enjoy sweeping views of the Shropshire countryside. Don’t miss the unusual vista of Attingham's Regency mansion framed by the glow of autumn leaves.

For those already feeling festive, why not take part in Attingham’s Christmas Craft Day? On Friday 1 November, help us prepare for the season by creating a fairy village to be displayed in this year’s Christmas trail. A fun and creative way for families to come together and make lasting memories! For more information or to book your place, email join-in-attingham@nationaltrust.org.uk.

Whether you're looking for spine-tingling adventures or a peaceful autumn walk, there’s something for everyone at Attingham Park this October half-term.
