About
The Trust is responsible for managing over half the land in the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site which has a diverse range of habitats, including wildflower meadows, woodlands and heathlands.
…….but that’s not all – we maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths, conserve and protect 60 historic structures, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways.
Walking is a fantastic way to explore the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site whether you’re a keen hiker or just fancy a leisurely amble, there really is something for everyone.
One of the aims of Severn Gorge Countryside Trust is to promote walking for sustainable recreation, that also boosts your health and wellbeing. We have a series of leaflets that help you plan walks across the whole of the World Heritage Site.
These walks are FREE to download by anyone. They are also available from Ironbridge Visitor Information Centre, the leaflet dispenser in Station Road Car Park and from the Trust directly.
We recommend STURDY footwear for these and all woodland trails.
