Telling Tales - The Secret Stories of the Gorge Collage Workshop
Location: The Bolthole, 4 The Wharfage, Ironbridge, TF8 7AW
The Bolthole is a creative hub at the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge Community; a place where residents and visitors swap tales and memories about their lives and links with the area. These stories provide a rich insight into life in the Gorge today, so, as part of as part of the Ironbridge Heritage Festival, Caris Jackson, our artist in residence, will be running a series of free drop-in collage workshops and inviting people with a connection to the Ironbridge Gorge to take part.
Using photographs and images, we will capture some of these personal stories and use them to create a bold, visual record of life in the Gorge. This will then be displayed as a permanent feature in the Bolthole coffee shop but also be used to create artwork, literature or other displays throughout Ironbridge.
So, if you have a fascinating secret to share or incredible tale to tell (perhaps you’ve been a dancer or explorer in a former life, lived somewhere exotic, had tea with a celebrity or done something most people can only dream of), please bring along an A5 black and white photocopy or digital print of an image which sums up your story. Please don’t bring anything precious, a copy is fine, as you will be embellishing it with paint and collage media to complete your tale.
If you would like to attend, pop in to The Bolthole store, call us on phone 01952 371640 or email hello@thebolthole with your contact details and preferred date.
